This event is show real world examples for Firefox OS and Android. We will have around 10 presentation each around 20 minutes long then we showcase and check the source code ot the applications that related to the specific topic.
Followup:
The conference started with a great crowd at 9AM - more than 200 people registered on Eventbrite beforehand, and there were quite a few people who did eventually show up - by noon, we reached peak attendance of about 150+ people, and there were easily at least 50+ attendees who stayed to the very end (until after 5PM).
The concept of the conference to show interested parties the ins and outs of application developmenet for both Android and Firefox OS platforms - showing working code, and the parallels, but also differences between the two approaches, ecosystems - all with live code examples.
Balázs Koren & Kálmán Szalai delivered introductory speeches first about both systems, and they were the ones closing off the conference, too - speaking about the future of both platforms, giving the conference a nice. complete frame.
The rest of the day was spent on presentations by Krisztián Karóczkai (Lead Organizer - Android & Firefox OS), Gábor Auth (Android) and István Szmozsánszky (Firefox OS). Topics included monetization, networking, databases, device hardware/sensor access and more.
Krisztián Karóczkai and Gábor Auth has also jointly developed a demo application for both platforms (Android and Firefox OS), a conference schedule and question-posting app called FoxConf - the source and creation process of which was live demoed on stage during one of the first presentations.
Attendees had the chance to ask questions and try Firefox OS devices during the breaks - which they did! Lots of awesome questions, and lot of interest in the OS (we also demoed the Flatfish tablet prototype and the new developer reference phone, the Flame).
There is a summary post on the event at the hungarian ITCafe portal, also listing all the slides for the presentations - and the recorded presentations are available at Mozilla Hungary's YouTube channel, too.
Most of the attendees loved what he saw & heard, there were a lot of new aspiring Firefox OS app developers, new interest were sparked in many.
Social media response was moderate - on facebook, twitter
There are quite a few photos up on Facebook [1] [2], Flickr (by the hashtag #androidvsfirefoxos), Instagram, even [1] [2] [3]
