August Penguin is the annual convention of the Israeli free and open source software community. It will take place in Ben Gurion University in Be'er Sheva on August 5th, 2016. We will be happy to receive a wide variety of lecture suggestions covering different topics so that the convention will be interesting and relevant to as many people as possible.

What are we looking for in the talks? Open source project you take part in. Experiences from working with free and open source software. Stories about transitioning from proprietary software to free and open source software. Useful tools for development of open source software. Various technical issues related to free and open source software User experience of using free and open source software in day-to-day usage. News from the GNU/Linux world and other free operating systems. Legal issues related to the various free software licences. * Any other topic that may be relevant to the free and open source software community.

What aren't we looking for in the talks? Advertisements for products or companies, even if they use free and open source software. Issues related to proprietary software/
