Description Maker Festival Manila is aimed to be the adaptation of the Mozilla Festival in the Philippines. It aims to be the biggest gathering of makers— thinkers and inventors who are passionate about the Web and how it can be used to help make ideas into reality. Aimed to the appreciation of technology by the general public, it will be held at a mall in the heart of the central business district.
This event will be the Philippine finale of the Maker Party campaign, which will adapt the open science fair format of Mozilla Festival’s science fair sessions.
This is where we can celebrate how anyone can make something for the Web, on the Web and with the help of the Web.
We are also planning to launch the Hive Learning Community Manila at this event.
Festival Format
The Festival will feature 10-20 invited exhibitors to show-off their projects. Booths will be provided for participants who would like to collaborate on making something while in the Festival. Open learning sessions can also be hosted by interested parties upon request and separate booths will be provided for the sessions.
Festival Categories
We welcome people from all fields that facilitate the creation of awesome things, the categories of which may include or may be related to:
- Web design/development
- Mobile apps
- Digital media learning
- Robotics
- DIY crafts
- Computer applications
Target Exhibitors
- Technologists, students, web designers, developers, engineers, programmers, and craft makers who uses the Web to share their creations.
- Creators of innovative education solutions using the Web/ digital media
- Project proponents working on something that can help shape the Web or make the world a better place through the Web. All exhibitors will be screened.
- Exhibitors will not be charged with any fee throughout the event.
