Description Selenium automates browsers. It'is a tool widely used in automated testing. Everybody uses it but there is nobody in Cluj that talks about using it. The Selenium Unconference will present Selenium to the Cluj-Napoca community, how it is used by big players in the industry and how we as a team can contribute to the Selenium project.

Venue Cluj-Napoca

City Cluj-Napoca

Area Cluj

Country or Region Romania

Selenium Unconference is a volunteer-run, non-profit event organized by members of the community that aims to bring together users and developers to share ideas, socialize and share their experience.

The second edition will continue our effort to build a comfortable place to talk about Selenium both for the newcomers to this field and also for those working now for several years with it. After the presentations we encourage people to share issues/problems they've met while working with Selenium, underlining the unconference concept.

Selenium

Selenium is an open-source project for testing web-based applications in any web browser on any operating system on any device desktop or mobile.

The Organizers

Report:

The event went really good. Around 70 showed up to the event. Alex was the event presenter and he spoke for a few minutes about the idea behind the event and introduced the speakers. The first presentation was held by Dave Hunt (Mozilla) describing Mozilla's security testing automated runs using Zap and Selenium. After that we took a small coffee break between the talks and people had a chance to discuss about the new stuff they learned form Dave's talk. Costin presented Adobe's test automation frame work for Digital Publishing mobile platforms. Really interesting setup there. To show the unconference side of the event we had a panel where we answered questions about Selenium and try to fix some of the issues that the audience had with the tool. We got a lot of positive feedback about the event and the talks. People where really interested on how they can improve their work flows and how to get involved in the projects.
