SensorWeb Deployment in London
Initiative Connected Devices Participation
Category Connected Devices
Description Deploy 10 sensors across London, building a community of people interested in IoT in the United Kingdom, while also contributing to Mozilla's SensorWeb Connected Devices initiative.
For the London work week demo, volunteers (lead volunteer Tom Farrow) will set up 10-15 sensors near Paddington area by 31 May.
Community Vision
This project can connect mozillians interested in electronics and IoT hacking in the United Kingdom. By doing this, we are working towards building the UK community. We will also engage with other mozillians who are willing to host a sensor, bringing them closer to Mozilla's core connected devices goals, alongside our community.
CD Vision
This project will provide a strong platform for demonstration of how the SensorWeb system can be used to tackle real world problems using the Internet of Things. We will also engage numbers of people throughout the deployment who may not have heard of IoT before, particularly how we can use it to benefit public good, and will act as discrete marketing to help them associate Mozilla with this mission.
