Description Event promoted by Mozillian women in Latin America. Increase the percentage of women in tech events, whom rather than just attend the event will be empowered with the tools and begin to develop software and hardware related to a more open web and available to everyone, with participation open to the public, but mainly to tech communities within the respective countries. Also seeks the inclusion of women on the Mozilla community with a positive and active participation towards it.

EVENT OBJECTIVES: MAIN Introduce Mozilla Project initiatives and empower woman in a process of inclusión to all attendees into the mozilla community of the participating countries.

SPECIFIC Increase the visibility of women and their participation in open source communities, primarily within the Mozilla community. Introduce the projects developed by Mozilla, mainly those oriented to education, including Mozilla Learning Network. Publicize the benefits of Firefox, a browser made with LOVE Share different knowledge about tech trends on web development, civic hacking, open hardware and other áreas of interest

CONTEXT The idea of the event is to publicize the Womoz Project initiative, and get people to know that it is a non-profit Project promoted by Mozilla. The event will have the philosophy of shared knowledte. The organizers “mozilla collaborators”, speakers, open source communities and other guests will share their experiences within the community. We’ll present the projects promoted by Mozilla, the benefits of a browser made with LOVE and diferent knowledge about information technologies on programming thematics, Arduino IOT, civic hacking, open data and other áreas of interest to all attendee, but mainly girls who can participate to form a bigger community and thus increase the visibility of women and their participation on open source communities, mainly inside Mozilla. It’s important to mention that it’s intended to have special guest to give lectures, there will be other organizations that promothe gender equality and use “technology for equality”.
