Description JAI (English: Informatics Self-Improvement Journeys - a really bad translation by myself, I'd say) is one of the most important scientific and technological self-improvement academic events inside Brazilian CS community. Workshops are given by senior researchers, and offer a unique opportunity for academics and IT professionals to update themselves in several different areas with top researchers from Brazil.
I was able to get a workshop along with a professor from one of the most important universities from Brazil (Unicamp). It's on development for mobile, using Web technologies. More than half of it is on Firefox OS, so I think this is a unique opportunity to make other professors, CS (and related fields) students and people from the industry aware and able to develop for it.
JAI is part of CSBS (English: Congress of Brazilian Computer Science Society), by far the biggest Computer Science academic event here in Brazil. During CSBC, researchers, scientists, professors, IT professionals and students gather to participate on talks, debates, panels and workshops in all CS areas. It's a huge event, and people there are eager for different and new experiences inside CS.
