Former Rep
This Rep has been part of the program from 15 August 2012 to 02 June 2017
After March 2, 2015 I will be taking a temporary hiatus from my volunteer Mozilla Reps activities within North America. I will remain actively involved in Mozilla Reps through my role on the l10n drivers team.
I'm a Localization Engineer on the Mozilla l10n drivers team. I'm all about sustaining and adding to our current localization offerings for Firefox. I work on making localization for Firefox desktop and Firefox for Android easier through communication, planning, and 1-on-1 mentoring. I try to bridge the communication gap between Mozilla and the various localization communities. I also lead the design and implementation of a few Mozilla l10n tools.
I'm also a Mozilla volunteer in my free time. I founded the Mozilla Utah community, which has been growing rapidly since it's beginning in 2013. I contribute to es-MX localization, privacy, and Webmaker.
I'm also a super language/culture geek. I'm fluent in Spanish and English and conversational in Brazilian Portuguese. I've casually studied Swedish, Icelandic, and Hindi but I would love to add them to my roster of linguistic fluency.
If you want to know more about me, check out my profile on the Mozilla L10n blog here (https://blog.mozilla.org/l10n/2012/04/06/get-to-know-a-l10n-driver-jeff-beatty/).

Jeff Beatty
A language passionate at heart, Jeff is the absolute L10n guru!
Never hesitant to land a helping hand, he has done an outstanding job supporting communities around the world in their localization efforts! From his hometown in Utah (United States) down to Mexico and all over to chilly Scandinavia, Jeff can't help but spread the L10n love around him through sprints, one-on-one mentoring, events and much more! His work lays the foundation for a better communication between the community and the Mozilla corporation, bridging any gap one brick at a time. Naturally, Jeff is the localization SIG leader, and organizes meetings to help Reps in this regard. Congratulations Jeff for being our stellar Rep of the Month for November 2013!
