DFYA and Mozilla First Meetup

DFYA is a non-profit organization or a community that is founded by "underground" local musicians, artists and writers. However, there are also some few volunteers from Japan and USA that are currently working with them. It was founded 1998 (by skateborders local fans) and currently have their own building at Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. Right now, they are actively spread the word of the awareness of preventing youth (mainly) and to the society from not approaching drugs. There got many followers since the date of their establishment. Right now, there are going to schools all over Malaysia to spread the awareness of Drug Use. We had a meeting on March 13, 2012 and among topics discussed are :- a. What benefits will Mozilla get when joining them? - Engage with thousands of local DFYA volunteers or fans and indirectly "recruiting" young talent of Malaysia to get involve and contribute to mozilla open web development - Joining the whole Malaysia tour on Drugs Awareness. All the schedule has been confirmed and according to them, they can get a minimum of 50 to a maximum of 800 audience in a session (mostly students). They are willing to give us a slot to talk about Mozilla and educate them about Mozilla. -using DFYA premise to organize an event/meetup/camp without charge -sharing their web hosting with Malaysia Mozilla Community -DFYA got their on workshop in creating T-Shirt and they will create a special edition of DFYA and Mozilla Malaysia community logo. b. What are DFYA hoping from Mozilla? - Souvenirs from Mozilla/Firefox which inclusive of stickers, t-shirts, badges - Travelling, Accomodation (for speakers) and Food budget (for speakers and audience budged) - DFYA got a van and they would like to have a budget from Mozilla in painting their van with Firefox logo or/and Mozilla project logo and t-shirts - Improving their portal. I'll do this on behalf of Mozilla. Don't worry, I'll do it for Mozilla and DFYA. c. Current schedule and what are they planning? Pahang - 23-25/3/2012. Negeri Sembilan - 12 - 14 April 2012 Melaka - 19 - 21 April 2012 Johor - 26 - 28 April 2012 Sabah and Labuan - 10 - 13 May 2012 Sarawak - 17 - 18 May 2012 3. DFYA is suggesting for Mozilla to sponsor their van by decorating Mozilla and Firefox logo (See the last attachment). Indirectly, it will promote Mozilla / firefox whenever they go out and giving talk to school regarding the awareness of Drugs. I believe this is a good marketing since they are going all over Malaysia.
