I’m Altin Ukshini, a FLOSS (Free Libre and Open Source Software) and Open Knowledge activist since 2009. I have been working hard last years on promoting, developing and translating Free and Open Source Software, alone and through FLOSSK. Basically, in general promoting FLOSS (Free Libre and Open Source Software) in my country Kosovo.

I joined Mozilla Community on December 2010 [Before ReMO program], and eversince I've been active in Mozilla and Firefox promotion and marketing through local events, social medias and word of mouth.

I am one of the organizers of Software Freedom Kosova the biggest annual F/LOSS Conference in Balkans and other related (FLOSS tech) activities that happened since 2009 including Richard Stallman’s lecture in Prishtina.

As a very active community guy, I’ve passionately co-founded and led tech projects and events in Kosovo and the US. I’ve been part of Louisville’s LVL1 hackerspace in Kentucky, United States of America for a year (while I was an exchange student), received the “Honorary Citizen of Louisville” award by the city Mayor and during my stay I founded a non-profit and the first conference about Open Source Software in Kentucky called MOSSCon (Midwest Open Source Software Conference).

I’m the the President of the Board at FLOSSK and MOSSCon, Prishtina Hackerspace co-founder, board member at STIKK (Kosovo Association of Information and Communication Technology) and a Mozilla representative from Kosovo.

I used to work at IPKO Foundation where I organized and lead some of the foundation’s projects, as well as managed the tech part of them, but currently I work at IPKO Telecom in Prishtina as a Linux System administrator

I’m a GNU project supporter, and love contributing to Wikipedia and Open Street Map.
